AlgaeCal Clinical Support
Toxicology Study - 6 separate safety studies have been published in a single article. Journal: Toxicology Mechanisms and Methods.
Human Osteoblast Study – cultured human osteoblasts are subjected to AlgaeCal versus Calcium Carbonate versus Calcium Citrate in this U of CT study. AlgaeCal's effect on mineralization and proliferation of these bone building cells is 200 to 400% better than the leading calcium salts. Published in Cellular and Molecular Biochemistry.
First AlgaeCal BMD Study – open label comparison of two AlgaeCal formulations investigating BMD changes in healthy adults of all ages. Both formulations contained other bone supporting ingredients, such as D3 and K2. The result was unprecedented in the history of calcium – the program provided an outright increase in BMD – not just slowing the bone loss as calcium supplementation traditionally does. This study has been submitted to a prominent peer-reviewed journal.
Second BMD Study – this comparative effectiveness study involving post menopausal women compared three AlgaeCal formulae to published data on traditional calcium supplements BMD scores. Post menopausal women are expected to lose approximately 1% of bone density per year with traditional calcium supplements only slowing that rate of loss slightly. This study shows the each AlgaeCal group increasing bone density at one year. This study has been published in Nutrition Journal - http://www.medsci.org/v08p0180.htm
Tolerability Study - compared AlgaeCal with D to the world's leading calcium carbonate product on post menopausal women in a randomized controlled trial. Manuscript is being written in Q1 of 2011 for submission to peer reviewed journal.
